Trogenix, a Brain Tumor Investment Fund™ portfolio company, has announced that the first patient has been dosed in ADePT, a phase I/II clinical trial of its investigational gene therapy TGX-007 for newly diagnosed and recurrent glioblastoma (GBM). The trial is now open at two sites: NHS Lothian in the United Kingdom and Ohio State University Hospital in the United States.
TGX-007 is an investigational therapy delivered directly into the tumor. It is built on Trogenix’s synthetic super-enhancer technology, which is designed to switch on two therapeutic payloads inside tumor cells — one intended to kill dividing tumor cells, the other to prompt an immune response against the tumor. The trial is designed to evaluate its safety and identify the right dose before assessing how well it works.
