Learn MoreA Venture Philanthropy Fund Focused on Sparking the Brain Tumor Market and Bringing Treatments and Cures to Patients
Leveraging the National Brain Tumor Society’s (NBTS) 30 years of experience, expertise, and achievement, the BTIF is a venture philanthropy fund supporting NBTS’s vision to conquer and cure brain tumors by investing in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies. BTIF helps accelerate promising research and bring forward potentially transformative treatments, enabling technologies to improve the lives of patients with a brain tumor.
The Brain Tumor Investment Fund, a subsidiary of NBTS, is the convener and a catalyst for private sector investment, led by a distinguished team of experts with deep experience in brain tumor research and drug development.
With the goal of conquering and curing brain tumors and catalyzing the brain tumor diagnostics/therapeutics market, we seek to invest in a diversity of emerging and innovative companies that are either at the seed or growth stage and that possess the ability to create new survival and quality of life treatment opportunities for patients with a brain tumor.
To help bridge the gap between scientific discovery at academic-based institutions and commercial product development — often referred to as the “Valley of Death” — the Brain Tumor Investment Fund raises philanthropic capital and uses our team’s expertise and experience to incentivize biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies around the world to develop new treatments and diagnostics. With the goal of creating a sustainable ecosystem, BTIF is partnering with key institutions to strengthen private financing in the space.
